<p>Exie Cole Little, 79, of Conover passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Catawba Valley Medical Center following a brief illness.</p><p><br></p><p>She was born May 25, 1944 in Rutherford County to the late Millian Benfield and Exie Benfield Cole. Exie was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Claremont and was involved in many activities of the church including the Altar Guild preparing bags of food for people who came by the church for help. She was employed with Bowman Drug in Conover where she worked as a pharmacy clerk for 57 years, Exie also worked for Dr. Crystal Hefner as an optometric assistant for 29 years. She enjoyed spoiling her fur babies, Happy and Cloe, working in her yard planting flowers, spending time with her family and was an avid Elvis fan.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Cole.</p><p><br></p><p>Those left to cherish her memory are;</p><p><br></p><p>Husband of 59 years: Rudy Little of the home</p><p><br></p><p>Sons: Derrick Little and wife Angela of Newton</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Steven Little and special friend Alicia Eller of Conover</p><p><br></p><p>Michael Sharpe and wife Dianne whom she loved like her own children</p><p><br></p><p>Sister-In-Law: Ann Cole of Conover</p><p><br></p><p>Grandchildren: Gretchen Little, Noelle Sharpe</p><p><br></p><p>Niece: Karen Moose and husband Kermit</p><p><br></p><p>Nephew: Scott Cole and daughter Ashton Cole</p><p><br></p><p>Great-Niece: Lauren Stewart and son Sawyer Robinson</p><p><br></p><p>Great-Nephew: Wesley Moose</p><p><br></p><p>And a host of other nieces and nephews</p><p><br></p><p>A service to celebrate Exie’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Claremont. Rev. Dr. Ted Rust will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:45 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Those serving as pallbearers are; Derrick Little, Michael Sharpe, Kermit Moose, Josh Waters, Steven Little, and Bradley Porter. Scott Cole and Wesley Moose will serve as honorary pallbearers.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorials may be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, P.O. She was born May 25, 1944 in Rutherford County to the late Millian Benfield and Exie Benfield Cole. Exie was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Claremont and was involved in many activities of the church including the Altar Guild preparing bags of food for people who came by the church for help.
