<p><p>Ralph “Rip” Meyer, Jr., 81, of Evansville, passed away at his home Sunday, December 3, 2023. He was born April 6, 1942 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Evelyn (Butch) and Ralph L. Meyer, Sr.</p><p><br></p><p>Junior retired from Alcoa after 33 years. He was a member of St. Peter’s UCC, avid IU fan, enjoyed going to Ellis Park, having coffee with his friends at McDonald’s and going to the farm. He especially enjoyed spending time with his great-grandson, Amari.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his daughter, Kim Meyer; grandson, Sean (Sam) Kerney; granddaughter, Keela Kerney; great-grandson, Amari Kerney; brothers, Ronnie, Rickie (Pam), Kenny, Jeff (Cindy) and Steve (Penny) Meyer; sisters, Judy (Joe) Allen and Phyllis (Bob) Berfanger; many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Sheila J. Meyer; son, Mark Meyer; and brothers, Jerry, Billy and Roger Meyer.</p><p><br></p><p>Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N. First Ave., Evansville. A Funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 8 at the funeral home with Reverend Michael Erwin officiating.</p><p><br></p><p>Burial will be at Locust Hill Cemetery.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s UCC-Highland, 7014 Darmstadt Rd., Evansville, IN 47710.</p><p><br></p><p>The family would like to thank the staff of AseraCare Hospice and DaVita Dialysis for their kind and compassionate care of Junior.</p></p>
