Verlin "Mo" Moses

<p>Verlin “Mo” Moses, age 90, of Sidney passed away on December 2, 2023, at 11:52 AM at Ohio Living Dorothy Love. Verlin was the oldest of seven children born June 6, 1933, to the late Elmore and Hazel Moses in Wolf Creek, KY. On August 2, 1958, Verlin married Iva D. (Wilson) Moses who preceded him in death October 29, 2023. </p><p>Verlin is survived by his son Mark of Sidney. Also surviving are 3 sisters, Marlene Layne of Piqua, Mildred (Jerry) Kinder of Wolf Creek, KY, and Diane (Earl) Hill of Piqua, sister-in-law, Faye Roberts of Whitley City, KY, brother-in-law Jerry (Jean) Wilson of Piqua, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Verlin was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters. Verlin was raised there are no half brothers or sisters. Delbert and Louise (Bolin) Wilson, father and mother-in-law, and several brothers and sisters-in-law. </p><p>Verlin retired from Copeland Corp. in 1996 after 45 years of service. Then from Walmart after 15 years of service. He had to get the lifetime discount card. Verlin loved horses, raising livestock, working a garden, canning the harvest, and giving it to friends and family. Verlin gave his heart to Jesus in 1954. March of 1955, he joined what is now Crossroad Church of God, where he was a young adult Bible teacher as well as trustee for many years. Verlin was the Patriarch of the family, very wise Godly man, both friends and family would seek advice from him. Verlin was a strong man of faith, loved God, family, and friends. In a world full of darkness, Verlin was a beacon. Shining his light down a path we all can follow. Now we must shine ours brighter in his absence. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8. </p><p>Verlin will be missed by his son, family, and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Ohio Living Dorothy Love, Ohio Hospice of Miami County and Wilson Health for their care of Verlin and Iva and Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home. </p><p>Family and friends may visit Crossroad Church of God, 9330 Looney Rd. Piqua, OH 45356 Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 4 PM until 7 PM. Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 8, 2023, at 11 AM at Crossroad Church of God with Pastor Jason Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Hospice of Miami County, 3230 N. Verlin “Mo” Moses, age 90, of Sidney passed away on December 2, 2023, at 11:52 AM at Ohio Living Dorothy Love.
