<p><p>Richard Emory Fitt, beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather, passed away on December 1, 2023, at the age of 77 at his home in Orem, Utah. </p><p><br></p><p>Richard was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 17, 1946, to Theodore Cleon Fitt and Jennie Hope Chapman. He was the youngest of 5 brothers. Shortly after his birth, his family moved to Tormey, California, in the San Francisco Bay Area. He lived there till the age of 10 when his family moved to Concord, California. He graduated from Clayton Valley High School. He attended Diablo Valley College before serving a 30 month mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Paris France Mission. </p><p><br></p><p>After his mission, he attended and graduated from Brigham Young University where he received a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Humanities. During that time he met his wife, Patricia Ann Blaisdell, and was married in the Logan Temple on June 30, 1972. </p><p><br></p><p>Richard spent nearly 30 years working for LDS Philanthropies and loved his job. As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints he served in various callings throughout his life. He served as a Bishop three times and as a Branch President at the Missionary Training Center. He also served two missions with his wife Patricia in the Paris France Mission.</p><p><br></p><p>He loved art, photography, playing the guitar, travel (especially to France) and sports (BYU). His favorite activity was spending time with his family.</p><p><br></p><p>Richard is survived by Patricia, his wife of 51 years; children Brandon (Marie) of Big Pine, CA; Lyndsey (Bryan Woody) of Telluride, CO; and Jamison (Trudy) of Springville, UT; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jay, his daughter Courtney and his grandson Jacob. </p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will be held on Friday December 8 at 11:00 a.m. at the Orchard Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 880 E 600 N, Orem, UT. Friends may visit with the Fitt family on Friday at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow on Saturday December 9 at the Malad City Cemetery at 12:00 p.m in Malad, ID.</p><p><br></p></p>
