Elizabeth T. (Mappelli) Orlando, 92, of Gloucester, passed away November 28, 2023, at Addison Gilbert Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Joseph P. Orlando Jr., whom she shared 54 loving and devoted years of marriage with.

Born in Rockport, MA., daughter of the late Luigi and Giuseppina (Mocciardini) Mappelli and her late stepmother Josephine (Tamarindo) Mappelli and was a graduate of Rockport High School Class of 1950.

Elizabeth enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking using her own special recipes, decorating and celebrating for the Christmas Holiday Season as well as knitting, crocheting, reading, sewing, puzzles, watching old games shows, western movies and the Naked and Afraid series.

She is survived by her son, Christopher P. Orlando and his significant other, Ms. Martha Marin and her daughters Lilliana Marin and Dassy and husband Sergio Velez, of Malden, daughter Grace M. Cusumano and her husband, Anthony of Gloucester. Elizabeth has (2) grandchildren John Joseph Cusumano and his significant other Erin Brosnan, Catherine Elizabeth and husband Jonathan Gelfand all of Gloucester, she also has a great grandchild, Juliette Grace. as well as her beloved cat Bella. Elizabeth also had many nieces, nephews as well as a special friend, Ms. Paula Hiltz of Gloucester, who she enjoyed spending time with going to lunch, rides around the cape and talking on the phone with.

She was predeceased by her son, Joseph M. Orlando; sister Frances Muise and her husband, Bob.

Funeral Mass will be held in St. Ann’s Church, 60 Prospect Street, Gloucester, on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 10am. A Private Family Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
