<p>CHESAPEAKE- Capt. Robert J. Swain, USCG, Ret. 84, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. He was born on December 9, 1938 in San Francisco, California to the late, James and Anita Swain. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Martin Swain of Hawaii, and his brother, Stanley R. Swain.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his sons, Matthew D. Swain (Julie) and Gregory J. Swain; four grandsons, Matthew Swain (Laura), Robert Swain (Megan), Michael Swain (Erica), and Brandon Swain; four great grandchildren, Wyatt, Quinn, Charlotte, and Oliver; and numerous other family members and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>A gathering of remembrance will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Sturtevant Event Center, 5100 Portsmouth Blvd Portsmouth, VA 23701.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The American Cancer Society.</p><p><br></p><p>www.sturtevantfuneralhome.com</p><p><br></p>Obituary
