Josh M. Jabalera Obituary

Joshua Matthew Jabalera passed away November 27th, 2023, in Billings MT.

Josh was born on March 4th, 1982, in Billings, MT to parents, Shelly and Alfred. He has one sister (Danielle) and two brothers (Marcus & Tanner).

Josh graduated from Huntley Project High School in 2000 and went on to attend Rocky Mountain College. There, he obtained a degree in Aeronautical Science, while also participating on the RMC golf team. Josh was very smart and prided himself on hard work. One of Josh’s many passions from an early age was playing golf, leading him to become part of the Pryor Creek Golf Club community where he made many lifelong friendships that he cherished. After several years at Pryor Creek G.C. he started his career in water quality and waste management for Midwest Assistance Program (MAP). This position took him down many roads in Montana, which he always enjoyed driving while taking in Montana’s many wonders. He held his position with MAP until the time of his death.

Josh had a smile that would light up a room and a personality that could be felt the moment he entered. He shared many good laughs and great memories with his large group of friends while either playing on the pool team, watching a good game, or taking in some outdoor sports. He had a passion for the outdoors and a true love for Montana. He would always say his perfect day was a clear blue sunny day in Montana. He enjoyed taking in the local sports teams and could often be found cheering on the Huntley Project Red Devils, the Rocky Mountain College Bears and of course his #1 favorite, the GRIZ! Josh also enjoyed the LA Dodgers and LA Lakers, attending games every opportunity he got. He had a love for many other hobbies as well. Josh liked to fly his plane, attend golf tournaments (especially The Phoenix Open) and he loved watching a good bull riding or roping event, sometimes even participating himself. He learned to rope at a young age from his Grandpa Gary with whom he was close. When it was nice day in Montana, you could find him fishing and camping at his favorite spots.

Josh is loved, missed, and survived by his parents Shelly (Keith) Hermanson, Alfred Jabalera, sister Danielle (Collin) Pike, brother Marcus (Ella) Jabalera, brother Tanner Hermanson, nephew Oliver William Pike, Grandmother Darlene Ostrum, and very special friend Erin Steinberg. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and wonderful friends. He was proceeded in death by his grandfather Gary Ostrum, grandmother Priscilla Gray, aunt Julie Belless, uncle Billy Varela & uncle Robert Jabalera.

“Fly high son. You are loved and missed more than you know! We will hold you in our hearts until we can hold you in heaven.” Love you, Mom & Dad
