Mary met the love of her life, Allan, while working at Father Meaney’s theatre in the mid-fifties where she worked six years with Dave Gardner and Mrs. Cardoulis. After her children were old enough and attending high school, she worked at the Cabot Bakery on Cromer Ave. from 1986 to 1991. There she made many friends while on the cash out front. During her retirement, Mary and Allan spent many years travelling all over Atlantic Canada, especially Newfoundland, and parts of the eastern United States. Also, in her retirement she volunteered with the Telephone Pioneer Partners where they fund raised for community groups. Mary was very well known by family and community for making and gifting her delicious Christmas cakes and cookies, which many looked forward to receiving. Mary was also an active and devoted member of the Roman Catholic Church in Windsor where she served as Eucharistic minister and lay reader.
Among Mary’s most favourite memories would be those spent at Fortune Harbour in the summertime. The place would be filled with extended family members and lots of good times that included garden parties, boil ups, berry picking and evening music from friends.
She will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
