Donald James Friday
<p>Donald James Friday, age 78, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, after brief hospice care following hospitalization for an illness. He was born on Sept. 5, 1945, in Mansfield, Ohio, to parents Albert Duane Friday and Catherine Marie (Barrett) Friday. His sister, Patricia Shari (Friday) Dorman, was born in 1947.</p><p>Donald graduated from St. Peter’s Catholic High School in Mansfield, Ohio, in 1964. In 1965, he joined the Naval Reserves, and after completing his basic training, served two years of active duty, including a tour of duty on the USS America aircraft carrier during the Vietnam War.</p><p><br></p><p>Don was a loving partner, uncle, brother and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.</p><p>Donald was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Linda Kay (Neal) Friday, his sister Patricia and his nephew Sean Michael Dorman.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his partner, Dorothy Beamer; his niece Lisa Maria Bell and her husband, Randy; nephew Mark Ian Dorman and his wife, Jill Holstein; and great niece Katherine Jillian Boyles.</p><p><br></p><p>A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, at All Saints Roman Catholic Church, 1534 N. Recker Road, Mesa, AZ. Following the mass, burial will take place at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ.</p><p><br></p>Obituary
