William Paul Harshman

<p>William Paul Harshman, 103, Logansport, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon in Miller's Merry Manor.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Born September 28, 1920, in Delphi, he was the son of the late Warren and Lois (Miller) Harshman. He graduated from Delphi High School in 1939.</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp;From 1942 to 1946, Logansport resident Bill Harshman served in the U.S. Army's 798th Military Police Battalion during World War II. He had served as a typist at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis and later worked as a property clerk in the Civilian Conversation Corps, or CCC, in Lafayette. Most recently, on&nbsp;November 11th, Bill was honored as the grand marshal during Logansport’s Veterans Day festivities.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>After&nbsp;being honorably discharged, Bill moved to Logansport. He began working at the Muelhausen Spring Company, which became Rockwell Standard Spring Factory and later, Matthew Warren Spring where he retired from in 1982 following 33 years of service.</p><p><br></p><p>In 1943, Bill was married to Geneva Catherine (Humes) Harshman, who preceded him in death in 1957 from leukemia leaving him with four young children.</p><p><br></p><p>On June 15, 1958, in Thornhope, he was married to Rosetta (Green) Harshman who preceded him in death March 15, 2016.</p><p><br></p><p>Bill was a member of the Logansport First Church of the Nazarene.&nbsp; He enjoyed playing the steel guitar.&nbsp; A pleasant man who was always smiling, Bill's other hobbies included photography, hunting, camping and traveling.&nbsp;<br></p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by four children: J.C. (Joetta) Harshman, Joanna Rainwater, Dora (G.W.) Malm and Lois Johnston; his grandchildren, Tina Duy, Kimberly Rose, Jennifer Cozad, Aron Rainwater, Emily Ulrich, Joshua Johnston, Summer Partington, Autumn Wall, Caleb Johnston, Winter Johnston, Micah Johnston and Spring Bishop; thirteen great-grandchildren; and seventeen great-great-grandchildren.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Private family service will be held at a later date.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Interment will be in Ball Hill Cemetery in Cutler, Indiana, in Carroll County.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>You may share memories and offer condolences on Bill's Tribute Wall at www.fisherfuneralchapel.com&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
