<p>Shirley Ann Nelson fell asleep on Monday, November 27, 2023. She was born on April 27, 1954, in Wrens, GA to the parentage of the late Mary Ellen Nelson and the late Robert Oliver Jackson, Sr.</p><p><br></p><p>Sister Nelson was a very strong and selfless woman; qualities that made her the best mom, grandma and or friend anyone could have wanted. She was kind and compassionate which made her a great Educator, which she put to use at Wrens Elementary School where she impacted many young lives. Sister Nelson retired as an Educator in 2021. Many of the good qualities she possessed came from her dedicated relationship with her God, Jehovah. Sister Nelson dedicated her life to Jehovah on Sunday, February 5, 1978, symbolized her dedication by her baptism as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. When in good health, she spent many hours trying to reach and teach people about God, Jehovah, and the Bible. She loved Jehovah! As her health declined, she still kept her faith. She had an everlasting hope for the resurrection. Family was her world, education was her passion, but Jehovah was her life.</p><p><br></p><p>Shirley will be deeply missed, but the hope in her heart was without doubt that her best friend, Jehovah would bring her back to a perfect world in perfect health. She would be most happy to see you there too!</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to her parents, our beloved Sister Shirley Ann Nelson is preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Nelson, and John Nelson. Sister Nelson leaves a lifetime of precious memories to always be cherished by those who have survived her: five devoted daughters, Melody Nelson of Augusta, GA, Ivonne (Jaime)Jones of Grovetown, GA, Tamika Nelson of Louisville, KY, Talisha (Travis) Shields of Louisville, GA and Clarissa (Tarrod) Jackson of Augusta, GA; one devoted son, Travis Nelson of Thomson, GA; five grandchildren, Rakeem Nelson, Jamaree Nelson, Joseph Vaughner Jr., JoDarrius Vaughner and Maddox Jackson; two great-grandchildren, Alaina Nelson and JaMere Murray; one uncle, Sam Nelson; two sisters, Patricia Beasley of Miami, FL and Janice Kay Jackson of Augusta, GA; three brothers, Bobby Nelson, Willie Jones Jr., both of Miami, FL and John Jackson, Sr. of Wrens, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.</p><p><br></p>

Sister Nelson was a very strong and selfless woman; qualities that made her the best mom, grandma and or friend anyone could have wanted.
