Obituary

Frances Yvonne Wiltsey

December 4, 1939 – November 23, 2023

Frances “Yvonne” Wiltsey, a beloved wife, mother, and pillar of her community, passed away peacefully at her home in Worland, Wyoming on November 23, 2023, at the age of 83.

Yvonne lived a life rich in love, family, and creativity. She was born in Greybull, Wyoming on December 4, 1939, to Henry Edward Sr. and Frances Margueriete (Beckner) Hartman. Yvonne spent her younger years in Greybull, Wyoming before moving to Casper, Wyoming where she graduated in 1957.

Yvonne married the love of her life, Elmer Wiltsey on April 27, 1957. The couple lived in Casper, then settled in Worland where they lovingly raised their two sons, Kirk and Robert. Yvonne’s devotion to her family was unwavering, and her legacy of love and strength will endure through the generations of lives she touched.

A skilled and passionate seamstress, Yvonne dedicated many years of her life to her craft. She worked as an alteration specialist for Mildred’s and the community before purchasing Hansen’s Fabric in 1973, where her talents shone for over 40 years. In 2007, they created their home business, Elmer & Yvonne’s, where she continued her work from the comfort of her home, sewing draperies and custom blinds for her community. Her nimble fingers brought beauty and precision to every piece she touched. Yvonne’s sewing needles were not only her tools but instruments of love and tradition. She sewed not only fabric, but the fabric of her family’s lives. Creating memories through the elaborate stitches of wedding dresses to handmade clothes for her family.

Yvonne’s interests were diverse. She had a flair for cooking, creating delicious meals that brought joy to her family and friends alike. Her love extended to her puppies, especially her cherished dog, Chico. Yvonne found solace and happiness in her garden, tending to her flowers, and enjoying the summer sun. When she wasn’t sewing, Yvonne embraced the wonders of nature, enjoying family trips to Shell Reservoir to fish. Her adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors left lasting memories for all who were fortunate to share those memories with her.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; son Kirk Wiltsey; daughter-in-law Marva Wiltsey; brother Henry “Ed” Hartman; sister-in-law Janet Hartman and grandson Tony Brown.

She is survived by her loving husband, Elmer; son Robert (Elaine) Wiltsey of Orlando, Florida; sisters Julie (Jaimie) Ramirez of Worland and Nancy Shultz of Oakwood, Texas; grandchildren, Monte, Zeke and Anthony Wiltsey of Texas; Melissa Coppola of Arizona, Robby Brown and Eddie Massey of Wyoming and Devonna Finch of Ohio as well as 21 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She was blessed with a large loving family, that she held dear to her heart.

Yvonne is a major loss for her dear friends and family, but is now in peace with God. She was blessed to spend her final days at home in the loving care and hands of her beloved husband Elmer, her sister Julie, and her niece, Chelsea Hill of Worland.

Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will take place early next year. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Yvonne’s name. Online condolences may be made at www.bryantfuneralhome.com.
