<p>Donna Kanyid,&nbsp; 86, died on November 21, 2023 at her home in Baker City. A brief interment will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday July 6, 2024 at Haines Cemetery in Haines, Oregon.followed by a Celebration of Donna’s life – 1:00 p.m. at the Baker Fairgrounds Event Center. </p><p>Donna Alena Kanyid, 86, died on November 21, 2023 at her home in Baker City, Or.. Donna was born February 27, 1937 in Payette, Idaho to James (Ted) and Orpha Dyer. She was raised off of highway 30 up a creek out of Payette. The family moved to Sturgill Creek across the Snake River from Robinette, Or. She went to school crossing the Snake by row boat or cable. The family moved again when Donna was in the 4th grade to the Tunnel Ranch on Lookout Mountain, her parents ranch. She continued school at Lime and then Huntington. Donna met Louis Kanyid and they married on March 21, 1950. A few years later Donna's folks bought another ranch at Durkee, Or. So they formed a partnership, Dyer &amp; Kanyid Ranches. Donna spent the next 25 years helping run cattle, cooking for hay crews, delivering milk, eggs, rabbits, chickens, butter, strawberries and raspberries, anything that would sell to her customers in Huntington. She did all of this while raising 4 children. They all played sports, piano, school bands and 4-H. She ran them everywhere.&nbsp; </p><p>After the ranches sold in in 1975 Donna began her new life. She bought a place on 10th Street in Baker City. She was married to Wayne Coffman for a short time. Donna rode for several ranches in the area helping take care of cattle, She also penned cattle at Baker Sale Yard and cooked at the Sunridge Restaurant. She started raising Quarter Horses and going to cuttings on her big stud horse Lucky. Wow, she loved that. One day her mom said "Donna this Poodle of mine needs groomed", and that's what started the wheels turning. It wasn't long and her grooming business was on the move and booming.&nbsp; </p><p>Donna loved all the dogs, her children and grandchildren, buying property and being involved in the community.&nbsp; </p><p>She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Orpha Dyer, brother Willard, sisters Grace, Marie and Orpha (Senie).&nbsp; </p><p>Donna is survived by her son Shane Kanyid, father of Rebecca and Louis Kanyid, daughter Sabrina Kanyid, mother of Katrina and Justin Marshall, son Ladd Kanyid, father of Bradon and Odessa Kanyid and daughter Shannon Kanyid, mother of Kyle Kanyid and Jezi Wells, and 11 great grand children.&nbsp; </p><p>For those who would like to make a memorial donation in memory of Donna, the family suggests Best Friends of Baker City through Tami’s Pine Valley Funeral Home &amp; Cremation Services PO Box 543 Halfway, Oregon 97834.&nbsp; Online condolences may be shared at www.tamispinevalleyfuneralhome.com </p>
