Sally Patricia Garcia

October 26, 1955 – November 23, 2023

Sally Patricia Garcia, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away at 68 years old November 23, 2023 at Washakie Medical Center in Worland, Wyoming after bravely facing the challenges brought on by a stroke.

Sally was born on October 26, 1955, in Toppenish, Washington to San Juan and Polly (Torres) Hernandez. Having spent most of her life in Worland, Wyoming, Sally leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Sally's devotion to family was unparalleled, and the most important aspect of her life revolved around her loved ones, especially her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She found joy in spending quality time with her siblings, often engaging in lively card games, with Liverpool being her favorite. The laughter that echoed through those card games will forever be a cherished memory for those who were fortunate enough to join in.

In her adventurous spirit, Sally enjoyed occasional trips to the Riverton Casino with her siblings, where the thrill of gambling was a source of delight. Her zest for life extended to music and dance, as she reveled in the joy of singing karaoke and dancing, even embracing the art of twerking in her later years.

During her quieter moments, Sally found solace in the simplicity of doing puzzles and cuddled up with a warm blanket reading her favorite book. Her nurturing personality shone through in every aspect of her life, particularly in her work at Willow Creek, where she dedicated herself to caring for the elderly. Her compassion and warmth touched the lives of those she cared for, leaving an everlasting mark on the hearts of many.

Sally was known for her sarcastic wit and the ability to speak her mind, appealing her to those who appreciated honesty and humor. She approached life with resilience and faced challenges with unwavering strength.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, San Juan and Polly (Torres) Hernandez; loving husband, Jess Garcia (Sonny); children, Maria Garcia and Jess David Garcia III (Buck); brothers, Jimmy Hernandez, Lupe Hernandez and Georgie Hernandez; sisters, Maria Hernandez, Monica Gomez, Elizabeth Hernandez and Virginia Hernandez.

She is survived by her daughter Sonya Gutierrez of Worland; brothers, Johnny (Suzanne) Hernandez of Worland, Jesse (Shelly) Hernandez of Worland, Frankie Hernandez of Utah and Raymond Hernandez of Colorado; sisters, Rosemary Moore of Worland, Paula (Richard) Urioste of Worland and Bella (Victor) Mendoza of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandchildren, Destiny, Gabriel and Jazmine Gutierrez all of Worland, Kendra (Daniel) Flores, Mia Garcia and Joshua Garcia all of Texas; daughter in law Elisa Garcia of Texas.

A celebration of life is scheduled for 3:00 PM, Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Worland Fairgrounds trailer. Memorial donations may be made to assist in funeral costs.
