Anna Lee Boes
<p>Anna Lee (Anne) Boes, of Berea, Kentucky departed this life with her family by her side on November 18, 2023 at the Baptist Health Richmond. Anne was born in Franklin, Tennessee on March 30, 1929 and grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. A few years after graduating from Louisville Girls High School she married Orville Boes and they moved to Berea in 1949.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to being a homemaker, Anne worked at Berea College in the Development Office. Anne started in the mail room at the Development Office and worked herself up to the Executive Assistant of the Vice President. She was Executive Assistant to four Vice Presidents while working at Berea College. Anne had a wealth of knowledge about Berea College and was often sought after to share her knowledge. In 1993 she became a Berea College Honoree Alumna and was very proud of this honor.</p><p><br></p><p>Anne taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at Berea Baptist Church for many years. She was an avid reader, loved to travel, and loved to entertain at her home. Anne had a love for God, family, country and helping others. She was known as an “Encourager” as she loved to send cards and notes to her family and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors left to cherish her memory are her loving three children, Sheryl (Jim) Sutton, Laura Boes, Mark Boes, three grandchildren, Molly (Les) Fackler, John Mark (Allison) Boes, Jonathan Sutton, three great-grandchildren, and family friends Chris Baum, Melissa Osborne, Randy Hays, Jim and Betty Lucas, Jamie and Carol Edney, and many more.</p><p><br></p><p>Anne’s family wishes to extend many, many thanks to everyone at the Baptist Health Richmond for the extraordinary loving care she received.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial gifts to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital and/or Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will be 1pm, Monday, November 27, 2023, at Berea Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Blaker officiating. Entombment will follow in Berea Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 10 am to 1pm.. </p><p>Lakes Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.</p>Obituary
