James Ryan Beardy

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts the family of James Ryan Beardy announce his sudden passing in Nanaimo, British Columbia on November, 2023 at the age of 39 years. Beloved Father, Son, Brother, Grandson, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin and Friend.

James was born on December 29th, 1983, in Thompson Manitoba to Darlene Shirley Beardy and raised by his grandparents, Lillian and the late Larris Spence.

James earned his Red Seal Mechanic apprenticeship and worked for McKay Chevrolet for 15 years, as well as many odd jobs including Baacos and Hi-tech Auto in Thompson, Manitoba.

He then moved to Nanaimo, British Colombia to pursue a different career choice of Resource Management Officer Technology, he was in his 3rd year.

His Hobbies were Skiing/snowboarding, hiking, rafting, playing guitar and escape rooms. He enjoyed being outdoors.

James leaves to mourn his parent: Darlene Shirley Beardy, brothers: Larris Avory Beardy, Diamond-Ray Beardy and sister: Felicia Dawn Beardy, grand parent: Lillian Spence, son: Brooklyn Beardy and daughter: India Brackley. Uncles; Morris Beardy (Annick), Darrel Beardy (Norma), Reginald Spence, Fred Spence, aunties: Rita Spence, Beulah Spence, Cynthia Massan, Norma Beardy, Jocelyn K Beardy, Rachell Williams. nieces and nephews: (Larris’s Daughter) Serenity Nault, (Felicia’s son) Ashton Beardy, (Diamond-Rays Daughter) Jaimie- Lynn Moose, cousins: (Reg’s Spence’s children) Reagan Spence, Tyler Spence & Hunter Spence. (Darrel’s Children) Keisha Beardy, Ashley Beardy, Logan Beardy, (Morris Beardy’s Children) Randi Beardy, Paige Beardy, Ian Beardy, Taylor Beardy. And other cousins: Marrisa, Jamie, Victoria, Marlee, Roberta, Rona-Marie, Khrystyna and many other relatives.

Service held in Thompson, Manitoba on Friday, November 24th from 7:00 – 10:00pm at St. James Anglican Church.

Service held in Gillam, Manitoba on Saturday, November 25th from 7:00 – 10:00pm at the Gillam Band Office.

Gathering held in Gillam, Manitoba on Sunday November 26 from 12:00-2:00pm at Gillam Recreation Centre followed by Funeral Service at 2:00pm, officiated by Rev. Jean Arthurson. Feast to follow at the Gillam Recreation Centre.
