<p><p>Obituary</p><p>Jalmer “Jonny” Albert Conrad Dahlberg</p><p>March 11, 1939 - November 19, 2023</p><p><br></p><p>A limb has fallen from the Dahlberg family tree that says grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song, the good life lived while I was strong.</p><p><br></p><p>Jalmer “Jonny” Albert Conrad Dahlberg went with his Lord and Savior on November 19, 2023. Jonny was born March 11, 1939 in a motel cabin in Deadwood, SD to a schoolteacher, Irene, and a miner/sheep shearer, Jalmer. Even though his mother was a teacher, Jonny was more interested in fast cars, motorcycles, and pool halls than school. Shortly after high school, he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Alaska for two years until he decided to go to Black Hills State College and get his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Education. After traveling and working in various places, he met the love of his life in Aberdeen, Idaho. He had interviewed for a job that he had decided he was not going to take, but once he set eyes on Shirlee Isaak, he knew he would want to be wherever she was, so he decided to stay. They married June 5, 1971 and soon moved to the Big Horn Basin to make their home and raise two daughters, Jennifer and Sarah. They made a good team and started a business together called Bee Original Gift Shop in which he contributed creative wood crafts and old barn wood frames that highlighted local arts and family memories. He served his community through education and law enforcement, but one of his greatest contributions was his gregarious, accepting, and friendly nature. He knew no stranger and left lasting impressions on all he met. After his “retirement” he drove a school bus for 18 years, which he often said was the best job he ever had. He loved exploring dirt roads on his motorcycle or riding over the Big Horn Mountains with friends. He could build anything from an Animal-Go-Round with custom tire swings to a dance hall where friends could gather. He could be heard singing a tune, laughing with his family making silly faces, spinning tales, or playing with words. He never missed on opportunity to tell his family how much he loved them and left many love notes in unexpected places. He will be greatly missed. </p><p><br></p><p>He was preceded in death by his parents, Irene and Jalmer Dahlberg; brother, Dennis Dahlberg, and sister, Donna Bishop. </p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his wife, Shirlee; daughters, Jennifer (Ed) and Sarah (Rob); granddaughter, Chandini Marie, and great grandson, Andrew Jon Gunty.
