Seola Hebert Pitre Obituary

Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die.

OPELOUSAS ~ It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved, Seola Hebert Pitre, age 83. She passed peacefully on the early morning of November 20th at her home.

Seola was born in Arnaudville, LA on February 6, 1940, the youngest daughter of Pierre and Anaise Schexnaider Hebert. The family soon moved to Whiteville, LA where she was raised and attended Washington High School, where she graduated in 1958. It was here that she met her sweetheart, Carol Pitre, with whom she was married until his death in 2008. While he went into the Army, she went to work for South Central Bell telephone company in Lafayette, LA as a telephone operator. They married in April of 1962 and moved to Opelousas where she would continue to work as a telephone operator for the next 15 years, where she made lifelong friends. She became a mother in 1970 and would stay home to raise her daughter. Later in life, she went back to school, and soon after, back into the workforce. She went on to retire from the LHC group at the age of 70.

She will be remembered for her kindness to others and was a wonderful Mother. She adored her siblings and nieces and nephews, who lovingly called her Aunt CeeCee.

She leaves to mourn one daughter, Candice Pitre Elkins and husband David Elkins, one granddaughter, Madeline Moreau Amiot and husband Daniel.
