Kathryne Mae Burnside, 83, of Huntington, OR died Friday, November 17, 2023 at her home.

Kathy was born August 29, 1940 to parents Frank and Wanda Graham in Sacramento, CA.  She was raised on a farm in Puyallup Valley where she developed a strong worth ethic and became a hard worker beginning at age 5.

Kathy met Lanny Burnside one morning when he knocked on her door with a freshly picked bouquet of flowers in his hand. He asked her on a coffee date, to which she replied, “you’re a doll”.  Love at first sight, they were married only 9 days later on May 31, 1968.

Kathy lived many places throughout her life including Tacoma, WA, Sparta, Richland, Sweet home, Cave Junction, OR.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and living a farm life. Kathy had a very good green thumb and was even able to bring plants back to life.  Kathy was a great homemaker and loving mother.  Her life philosophy was, “solitude is good”. Anywhere she was she made it feel and look like home. Everyone she met loved her.

Kathy was preceded in death by her daughter Kittie Ferguson; sons Peter and Anthony Ferguson; and both parents.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years Lanny Burnside of Huntington, OR; brothers Ron and Robert Mejiano; sisters Wanda Haley and Linda Mejiano.
