Betty Lou Ellen Hillman, 85, died at St. Gabriel’s Community (Benedictine Living Center) in Bismarck, ND on Sunday, November 19, 2023. Betty married Kenneth Paul Hillman in Adams on August 17, 1958. They moved to Rugby, ND in 1966 and managed Andy B’s Truck Stop. After purchasing the business, they changed the name to the Hub of America and expanded by adding a supper club, pub, motel, convenience store, and off-sale. Betty oversaw the restaurant operation and was well known for running the tightest ship in town! Under her leadership, the Hub had a reputation for hospitality, cleanliness, and the best trained servers in town. She was also an active member of First Lutheran Church. After retiring, Betty and Ken traveled extensively in their motor home, spent many winters in Arizona, and faithfully attended their grandchildren’s activities. Seven years ago, she moved to the St. Gabriel Community Center in Bismarck.
