David Reed Simpson, 80, of Richland, Oregon, passed on November 15, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born February 17, 1943, at Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Henry and Jane Simpson.

David served his country through the United States Navy for 5 plus years.  David and Carol met on a blind date in San Francisco, CA and were married in April, 1966.  They have two beautiful children, Michael and Jenni.  After traveling the Pacific Northwest for 41 years for work and play, the Simpsons were blessed to retire in Richland.  David loved to hunt, fish and garden and was able to do all that for another 12 years until health issues forced him to slow down physically, but not spiritually.

David was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Charlene.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol; his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jana; his daughter and son-in-law, Jenni and Jason; his grandchildren Logan, Morgan (Jake), Megan, and Lindsay (Roman); great-grandson, David Lane; sisters, Jeanne, Joanne, Sandy, Eileen and their families.

The family would like to thank special caregivers Brenda Lindsay, Diane Nye, Cindy Marlow and Heart 'n Home team, Baker City, which enabled David to remain home in Richland, and a big thank you to the dear friends and community in Baker County.

A Graveside - Celebration of David's Life with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 - 11:00 a.m. Eagle Valley Cemetery.  Friends are invited to join the family for a reception to be held immediately following the graveside at the New Bridge Grange.
