Newald, Wisc. - Ronald D. Kniess, 90, of Newald, Wisc., passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Florence Health Services, Florence, Wisc.

Ronald was born on September 14, 1933, in Newald, Wisc., to the late Max and Myrtle (Seymour) Kniess.

Ronald proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1956. He worked for Super-Valu Foods as a truck driver from 1969 until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of various American Legions over the last twenty years lastly was with American Legion Post #94 in Crandon, Wisc.

Ronald married Judy Klimek at Zion United Methodist Church in Denmark, Wisc., on September 19, 1987.

He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-six years, Judy Kniess; sons, Mark Kniess and Ted Kniess; step-sons, Jim (Gail) Van Den Avond, Tim (Mary) Van Den Avond, and Todd (Donna) Van Den Avond; sister, Yvonne Sturzl; and several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Dale Kniess and Tim Kniess; daughter, Cassie VanDen Hoy; brothers, Max Kniess, Jr., Larry Kniess, and Mike Kniess; and sisters, Virginia and Bonnie.

A Celebration of Ronald’s life will be announced in the spring.
