Utica, NY – Ralph D. Monaco, 72, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Wynn Hospital, in Utica.

He was born October 28, 1951, a son of the late Stephen and Frances D. (Bartkowiak) Monaco. Ralph was raised and educated in local schools. On July 7, 1979, he married the former Gloria J. Yost. The couple shared in a union blessed with over 44 years of marriage.

At one time, Ralph owned and operated Steve Monaco Enterprises, along with his family, where he was active as a roofer for over fifty years. He later held a position with the Hess Gas Station, on Genesee St., in Utica, where he retired after over thirty years of service.

Ralph was always present in his family’s lives. He gave all to his family until the very end. Ralph was an avid Buffalo Bills fan, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the casino, playing Bingo, and most of all being with his family.

Surviving are his beloved wife; Gloria; six children, Tricia Curran-Torchia and her husband, Ronald Torchia, Annmarie Gianotti and her husband, Robert Gianotti, Laurie Ferris, Roger Ferris, Carmen Spina, and Kathie Brindisi (He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Anthony Moccaldi); grandchildren, Gage Curran, Sophia Gianotti, Ella Rose Gianotti, Jordon Saunders, Carla Fischer and her fiancée, Anthony Drennen, and Joseph Wallace and his wife, Elizabeth “Libby” Wallace; great grandchildren, Arianna Drennen, Anthony Drennen, Aleeah Drennen, and baby Joe Joe Wallace; two brothers, Ronnie Monaco and Frank Monaco, who was Ralph’s best friend and hunting partner, and Frank’s wife, Mary Monaco; his sister, Judy Monaco and her children; nieces and nephews, including, Lori Monaco, Christina Monaco, Grace Monaco, Matt Kelly, Patrick Kelly, Christian Kelly, Stephen Monaco, and Nikki Monaco and also several great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and in-laws. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Monaco.

Visitation will be held on Friday afternoon, November 17, 2023, 4:00-5:00, at the Adrean Funeral Service, Inc., 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St., Utica (at the Matt Funeral Home). Mr. Monaco’s funeral and celebration of life will commence immediately following visitation on Friday evening at 5:00 at the funeral home.
