Sue Eileen Naiman of Gilead, NE the daughter of Jerry and Betty (Osborne) Pickerell was born August 16, 1951 in Geneva, NE.  She departed this life Monday, October 30, 2023 at Mid-Nebraska Lutheran Home in Newman Grove, NE at the age of 72 years.

Sue grew up in Bruning, NE attending school and graduating from Bruning High School with the class of 1969. She furthered her education by attending Lincoln School of Commerce. 

She was baptized April 13, 1952 at the First Congregational Church in Geneva, NE and confirmed December 18, 1975 at St. Paul Lutheran Church rural Gilead, NE.

She married Delbert Naiman April 22, 1973 at the United Methodist Church in Bruning, NE.  This union was blessed with the birth of three children.

Sue worked at the Nebraska Signal in Geneva, NE and Pioneers Inn in Gilead, NE. However, most of her life was dedicated to being a loving and devoted stay at home mother cooking and taking care of her family and in home daycare. Later in life, she enjoyed helping raise grandchildren. Sue also served several years on the Gilead Public School Board and the Head Start Council.

She enjoyed reading, flowers, puzzles, but most of all spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Delbert, sister Denise Wagner,  brother-in-law Scott Calahan, and granddaughter Ashlynn Farris.

She is survived by her son Andy Naiman and wife Nicki of Gilead, NE, two daughters; Regina Farris and husband John of Aurora, NE, and Kristine Houser and husband Ryan of Bruning, NE,  brother Don Pickerell and wife Dorothy of Columbia, MO, sisters; Judy Pendergraft and husband Ron of Gold Canyon, AZ, Nancy Calahan of Chandler, AZ, brother-in-laws; Rich Wagner of Kearney, NE, Larry Naiman and wife Jean of Hebron, NE, grandchildren; Alyssa Naiman, Caleb Farris and wife Rachel, Dante Farris and wife Carly, Kellen, Hayden, and Jillian Farris, Amber, Rebecca, and Tiffany Vinsonhaler, Katelynn and Alexa Houser, nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial service will be held Monday, November 6, 2023 at Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron, NE at 10 am.  Purple may be worn in support of Alzheimer’s Awareness. Memorials in care of the family. Book signing will be Sunday, November 5, 2023 from 2-6 PM at Kroll Funeral Home in Hebron with family present 4-5 pm.  Organist will be Brenda Striggow, congregational hymns “Amazing Grace”, “How Great Thou Art” and “On Eagles Wings”.
