Edward Lee Payne, 68, of Princeton, KY, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at the Caldwell County Medical Center. He was a retired correctional officer for the Kentucky State Penitentiary and a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the Fredonia Pentecostal Worship Center.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Wetona Payne; two daughters, Jennifer Coble and husband, Jamie, of Madisonville, KY, and Shannon Penrod and husband, Jonathan, of Princeton, KY; former son-in-law, Michael Gordon of Wisconsin; brother, Billy Payne and wife, Patsy, of Dawson Springs, KY; two grandchildren, Jeremy Gordon and Jesse Coble; and one great-grandchild, Logan Gordon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawson and Anita Woodruff Payne; three sisters, Geneva Cranor, Linda Winters and Priscilla Burns; two brothers, Tommy and Jimmy Payne.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Fredonia Pentecostal Worship Center with Bro. Freddie Mosley officiating.
