Rose (Costa) Mahon Obituary

Rosemarie (Costa) Mahon 1949-2018 Rose was born on September 20, 1949 in Revere Massachusetts to her mother Doris (Fitzgerald) Farnsworth and Michael Costa. Rose was raised in Revere and graduated from Revere High School. She became the secretary at Upward Bound in 1967 and attended junior college until entering Northeastern University in 1969 where she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 1974. Rose met her husband Wayne Mahon when she was 18 years old and they married on April 15, 1972. Rose had the uncanny ability to adapt to any situation which is exemplified in the many secular roles she held throughout her life including running a home daycare, becoming a World of Products representative, working for the IRS, home tax preparation all before starting a completely new career later in her life as a Quality Assurance Engineer for both Block Financial and Politzer and Haney (ACI Worldwide). Upon retiring Rose immersed herself in her religion as a full-time pioneer for the West Lynn Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses. In addition to her devout religious services, Rose provided comfort and help to all of her friends and family. For some she was a guide who helped nudge you in the right direction, to others she was a comforter, and to some just a kind listening ear. Among her friends she was known as the organizer planning many activities for friends and relatives including vacations, day trips, and gatherings. Rose passed away peacefully on February 20, 2018 surrounded by loved ones. Rose is preceded by her mother Doris Fitzgerald Farnsworth and her sister Linda (Costa) Provo. She leaves behind her loving husband Wayne E Mahon and her three children Wayne A Mahon & his wife Angela (White) Mahon, Mylah Mahon-Davenda & her husband Michael Davenda, and Janel Mahon. She is also survived by her five grandchildren Skylah Mahon-Dixey, Bella Mahon, Malachi Mahon, Soren Mahon and Aiden Davenda. Rose also leaves her Aunt Joann and three Nephew, Patrick Fennelly, James Fennelly and Sean Fennelly. She is also survived by many loving cousins. Rose will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Memorial visiting hours will be held on Saturday from 2pm-6pm in the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME 67 OCEAN STREET (RTE1A), LYNN. Her family will lead a Remembrance Service beginning at 5pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
