Robert L. Bell of Rome, New York passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023.

Robert was born in Ilion, New York and spent the majority of his life as a resident of Connecticut before returning to New York State for the remainder of his life. Robert loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating, hiking, and camping. Robert treasured his time spent outside in the forests, rivers, and lakes.

Robert was a mechanic, handyman and jack of all trades due to his numerous interests and curious nature. Robert was always there to help family, friends or neighbors with any repair or project. Robert’s huge heart made him a wonderful son, brother, and uncle. Even though Robert never married or had his own children, he was an important part of the lives of his nephews spending time in nature together canoeing and fishing.

Robert is survived by his mother, Patricia Bell and his sisters Barbara Mankewich and Donna Sprague all of Shelton, CT., and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Robert was predeceased by his father Louis William Bell; his sister Brenda Gebuza, and his nephews, Robert and Brian Kimmer.

At the request of the family, all services will be private.
