Rose Marie Schneider Weidensaul, 87, of Derry Township, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, October 19, 2023, at her home.

Born in Stowe, on September 4, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Rosina Thomas Schneider.

Rose Marie retired from the Milton Hershey School where she worked as a secretary in the Psychology Department. Prior to working for the school, Rose Marie had also worked at the former Olmsted Air Force Base, Fort Indiantown Gap, and the Hershey Medical Center. She was a 1954 graduate of the former Governor Mifflin High School. Rose Marie was an avid reader, enjoyed painting resin Santa Clauses and milk cans, and doing stained glass.

In addition to her parents, Rose Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Witman Weidensaul, on October 12, 2023; one brother, Michael Schneider; and one sister, Dorothy Brown.

Rose Marie is survived by four children, Vickie Gingrich (Curt) of Hummelstown, Tim Weidensaul (Lorre) of Hummelstown, Terry Weidensaul (Lisa) of New Bloomfield, and John Blevins (Marina) of Airville; six grandchildren, Emily, Taylor, Melissa, Chris, Dylan, and Ian; and one great-grandson, Reece; one sister, Ruth Ann Huntzinger (Richard) of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday October 26, 2023, at 8:30 am in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Omar B. Zook officiating. Inurnment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Friends are invited to the visitation in the funeral home on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the time of the service.
