<p>Margurite Ruth Carter née Reeves, 92, “Pete”, a resident of Fairfield Bay, AR, and a native of Alexandria, LA, died on September 28, 2023. There will be a memorial service in Jackson, LA on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the Jackson United Methodist Church at 11:00 am. Burial of her remains will be in Jackson Cemetery. She is survived by her daughter, Diana Ladmirault and husband Frank Ladmirault of Fairfield Bay, AR; one son, Mark Carter, Sr. and wife Cynthia Carter of Springfield, VA; seven grandchildren: Ellen Christine Wilson, Cara Tedrick, Jessica Warren, Christopher Ladmirault, Brian Ladmirault, Mark Carter, Jr. and Paul Anthony Carter; nine great-grandchildren Tabitha McGee, McKenna Tedrick, Ryan Ladmirault, John Michael Tedrick, Mark (Trey) Carter, III, Layla Carter, Skylar Warren, Lillian Warren, and Aubrey Carter; and great-great-grandchildren Isabella McGee, Lily McGee, Serenity McGee. She was preceded in death by her husband Reverend Paul W. Carter; son Reverend Stephen Carter; father Reverend Allen R. Reeves Sr; mother Fredna (Reeves) Akin née Scogins; sister Allena Longfellow; brother Allen R. Reeves, Jr.; and sister Judy Hoyt. Margurite was always ready to smile, laugh, play games, and tell stories with her family and friends. She lived a long and happy life and was a devoted and supportive “preacher’s wife” to her late husband, Rev. Paul Carter. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. As a “Navy Brat”, she traveled and lived all over the United States, including Hawaii. A true lover of animals, she doted on many pet dogs and cats over the years and always made sure birds and squirrels had plenty to eat in the winters. She passed away peacefully, with her daughter Diana and son-in-law, Frank, by her side. She will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, she would have appreciated a donation to Arkansas Hospice www.arkansashospice.org; or the Fairfield Bay Animal Protection League, www.ffbanimalshelter.org.</p>
