Jeanne Bright Meekins

Jeanne Bright Meekins, 90, passed away on January 30, 2018. She was born in North Carolina, and has lived in the Virginia Beacharea most of her life. She was a graduate of Louisburg College in Louisburg, NC. Jeanne was the wife of the late Philip E. Meekins, Sr., and was a long standing member of Community United Methodist Church, and the Friendship Class. Over the years she had volunteered her time in various civic groups and garden clubs. Survivors include her son, Philip E. Meekins, Jr., and his wife, Mary of Virginia Beach, a sister, Anne Harrell of Camden, NC, two grandchildren, Philip Meekins, III and his wife, Mollie of Kansas City, MO, and Janie McCullough and her husband Micheal of Virginia Beach, and four great grandchildren, Camilla Meekins, Corey McCullough, and Kian and Kylan McCullough. The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 PM on Saturday February 3, 2018 in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Rd Chapel. A funeral service will be held at Community United Methodist Church on Sunday at 2:00PM. Interment will follow in Colonial Grove Memorial Park.
