Irving Levent

<p>Irving (Irv) Levent, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at 93 years of age, on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, from natural causes. </p><p>Irv was born to Samuel and Anna Leventman in 1930. He was raised in Brooklyn, NY., and was the youngest of four boys. Although economic times were tough, Irv had many fond memories of growing up in a close knit family, with his parents and older brothers, Herman, Julius, and David. As a teenager, Irv enlisted in the Army during WWII, where he was stationed in Germany and served as a Platoon Sergeant liberating Germany. He also served in the Korean war, and was honorably discharged in 1951.&nbsp; </p><p>After the war, Irv met Barbara, and they were married in New York in 1954. They resided in Douglaston, New York. In 1959, Irv and Barbara moved to the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia, and raised four children--Kevin, Jill, Todd and Glenn.&nbsp; </p><p>Irv had a successful career at California Manufacturing Company, where he was a top sales professional for over 25 years, and at Indiana Knitwear for 6 years, selling outerwear and knitwear to major department stores throughout the Southeast United States. In addition, Irv was a small business owner in the Alpharetta community, helping to establish and run a family business--Glenn's Detail Shop. </p><p>Irv was a kind and compassionate man who was always willing to help others. He was very proud of this four children, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, and loved spending time with his family and friends. Irv was known for this wonderful dry sense of humor and loved making people laugh. He enjoyed travel, outdoor activities, cooking healthy meals at home, wine tasting and listening to different genres of music. He had a lovely voice and enjoyed singing the old time popular tunes. Although his extended family lived in the Northeast, Irv was dedicated to seeing them as much as he could, and kept connected.&nbsp; </p><p>Irv will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his four children, and their spouses--Kevin Levent and his wife Susan; Jill Broyles and her husband Mark; Todd Levent, and his wife Dana; Glenn Levent, as well as his six grandchildren and their spouses-Tyler Brenner and his wife, Lauren; Allison Gambling and her husband, Casey; Steven Levent and his wife Brittany; Dillon Broyles; Jared Levent; and Alexandria Levent; three great grandchildren Finn Brenner, Andi Gambling, and Carter Levent. Irv is also survived by his two nieces--Leslie Leventman and Marian Goldsmith, and two nephews--David Levent and Dean Leventman. Irv's brothers--Herman, Julius and David predeceased him.&nbsp; </p><p>The family requests that any donations in memory of Irv Levent be made to Congregation Beth Israel of Forsyth County http://www.jewishforsyth.org&nbsp;or a charity of your choice.&nbsp; </p>
