Patrick "Shane" Hebert Obituary

PECANIERE  ~  Funeral services will be held Friday, October 13, 2023 at a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville for Shane Hebert, age 57, who passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at his residence in Pecaniere surrounded by his family.


Interment will be in St. Leo the Great Cemetery in Leonville. The Rev. Darren Eldridge, pastor of St. Leo The Great Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.


Mr. Hebert was a native and lifelong resident of Pecaniere. He was employed with Primoris Service Corporation (James Construction Group) and the local Union 406. He loved watching the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers. Shane enjoyed spending time with his friends drinking his Bud Light and Barbequing. A true family man, he loved spending time with his kids and grandkids and hearing them call him Papaw. He was a parishioner of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville. Despite his illness, he fought the good fight until the very end.


Survivors include his wife, Christie Hebert of Pecaniere; two daughters, Naomi Angelle and her husband, Kyle, and Alyssa Dugas and her husband, Andrew, all of Cecilia; four grandchildren, Hudson Angelle, Quinn Angelle, Andi Paige Dugas, and grandbaby Dugas on the way; his mother, Nola Hebert; a bonus daughter, Alivia Grace Touchet; his in-laws, Claude and Norma Lagace; one sister-in-law, Carrie Green and her husband, Scot; one brother-in-law, Scott Lagace; three Godchildren; Jamie Badeaux, Nicki Breaux, and Kaleb Lanclos; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.


He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Hebert; one brother, Dale Hebert; and one sister, Brenda Hebert.


A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home led by Brenda Stelly.


The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Friday.


Pallbearers will be Kaleb Lanclos, Todd Stelly, Matthew Stelly, Dwayne Darbonne, Mark Darbonne, and Paul Campbell. 


Honorary pallbearers will be Hudson Angelle, Tyler Louviere, Jason Pelafigue, Kenneth Stelly, Chad Lanclos, Joe Quebedeaux, Joey Wyble, Devin Wyble, and Claude Lagace.


In lieu of flowers, the family request a donation be made to the American Cancer Society.


The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Victoria Panelli, Dr. Wilt, Dr. Michael Alexander, and the staff at UHC and St. Joseph Hospice. Shane and Christie would also like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Complete Home Health for giving Christie the opportunity to be with Shane during his illness.
