Loren Crosby Davidson

L oren Crosby Davidson, 75, was surrounded by his family when he passed away peacefully at his home in Edmonds on Saturday, January 14, 2017. A Seattle native, he was born on October 5, 1941 to Betty (Crosby) and Loren Davidson. Lon and his sisters, Gay and Betsy, were raised in Laurelhurst and Montlake, and he graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1959. Prior to settling into his lifes work as a life and disability insurance agent, Lon served in the Coast Guard; graduated from the University of Washington in 1964, where he was an Alpha Delt; and taught middle school English in both San Diego and Shoreline. A lifetime member of the Seattle Yacht Club, he was known for his sailing and story- and joke-telling abilities. He was also an active member of the Alderwood Rotary. As a sailor and small plane pilot, he enjoyed many adventures in the Northwest. His enthusiasm for life was contagious and his laugh was infectious. Lons devotion to his family and friends was unending. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he is lovingly remembered and terribly missed by his wife Nancy (of nearly 47 years); three daughters, Jenny (R.J.), Katie (Brian), and Lauren (Jake); his four grandchildren: Oscar, Jimmy, Nash, and Ella; and many cherished family members and friends. A celebration of Lons life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2017, at the Ballard Bay Club - 6413 Seaview Avenue NW, Seattle, 98107.
