Rory L. Piermattei, 61, of Elizabethtown, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at his home.

Born in Sunbury on August 28, 1962, he was the son of Jacqueline Acheson Piermattei of Sunbury and the late Fred F. Piermattei.

Rory retired from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service. He was currently employed as an Area Specialist for the United States Department of Agriculture. He was a 1980 graduate of Shikellamy High School, and received his Bachelor’s degree in Business from Thomas Edison University, Trenton, NJ. Rory was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Palmyra. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 265, Hummelstown, and the VFW Post 3502, Hershey. An avid Penn State and Dallas Cowboys fan, Rory also enjoyed fishing, riding ATV’s and snowmobiles, and fireworks.

In addition to his mother, Rory is survived by a son, Andre G. Piermattei of Hummelstown; their son’s mother, Catherine F. Piermattei of Hummelstown; two brothers, Dean F. Piermattei husband of Nicole of Elizabethtown, and Fred M. Piermattei husband of Nancy of Middleburg; and one sister, Kim A. Piermattei wife of Timothy Bacon of Benton; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 2 PM at the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc. 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Fr. Anthony R. Dill, as officiant. Military honors will follow the service. A time to visit with the family will be held Friday in the funeral home from 1 PM until time of the service.
