June Naomi Smeltzer Foltz, 100, formerly of Rutherford, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2023, at her son’s residence in Harrisburg, surrounded by her family.

Born in West Fairview on December 3, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Martin John and Mary Elizabeth Fisher Smeltzer.

June retired from the corporate offices of Agway in Harrisburg where she performed clerical work. She was a 1940 graduate of John Harris High School. June was a member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Rutherford. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and baking.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 78 years, Richard R. Foltz, on October 13, 2022; two sisters, Geraldine Salmari and Rene Blair; and a brother, Martin Smeltzer.

June is survived by her children, Barry A. Foltz husband of Susan Gilmartin Foltz of Harrisburg, Jeffrey L. Foltz of Carson City, NV, and Barbara A. Yeager of Downingtown, PA; 9 grandchildren, Allison Gale wife of Kurt of Reno, NV, Dana Foltz of Reno, NV, Heather Foltz of Las Vegas, NV, Caitlin Foltz of Harrisburg, Caralie Roisum wife of Michael of Maple Grove, MN, Rochelle Roemen wife of Joel of Kaufman, TX, Kimberly Washington wife of Brian of Coatesville, Kyle Yeager husband of Kat of West Chester, and Veronica Yeager of Arden, NC; and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday October 12, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. Interment will be in the Hershey Cemetery. Friends are invited to the viewing in the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of the services.
