Elizabeth "Betty" Selfridge Deason, 89 of Centreville, AL went to her eternal home on September 30, 2023. She was born on March 26, 1934, in Medford, MA to John E. Selfridge and Catherine V. Margeson Selfridge. She was a secretary for the Tuscaloosa City Board of Education.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son-in-law, Lance Sanford; her sisters: Florence McIntire, Ruth Shaw, Claire Young, and Jackie Weiss; her brothers: Mark Selfridge, Everette Selfridge, Bobby Selfridge, and Jerry Selfridge; and her twin granddaughters, Abi and Logan Sanford.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Deason; her daughters: Ruth Deason of Centreville, Cindy Garner (Kirk) of Duncanville, AL, Janet Fancher (Tony) of Centreville, Carolyn Caddis (Gene) of Duncanville; and her brother, Jimmy Selfridge. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Paige Garner, Michael Garner, Sarah Garner, John Garner, Savannah Sanford Grogan (Grant), Caroline Sanford Fondren (Watson), Courtney Caddis Dowdle (Dylan), Lydia Caddis (DeMarcus Nickelson), Tanner Caddis, and Eliza Caddis; and five great-grandchildren: Delainey Garner, Truett Caddis, Natalee Dowdle, Myla Nickelson, and Luke Dowdle.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at 5:00 pm at Duncanville Baptist Church in Duncanville, AL with Ray Hallman and John Creitz officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes, Marion Chapel directing.

In lieu of flowers: plants, shrubs or trees may be obtained at Johnson's Gardens (The Plant Lady) in Duncanville, or Cahaba Flowers in Centreville.
