William "Bill" Dean Warren

<p>William Dean Warren, 76, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, October 1, 2023, after a lengthy illness. “Bill” was born on November 4, 1946, to Mildred Weber Warren and Robert Frank Warren in Benton Harbor, MI. Two weeks later, he left on the first of many travels during his father’s career in the United States Marine Corps. He attended Quantico High School in Quantico, VA, where he excelled in sports, specifically baseball and football. He received a principal appointment to West Point Academy but opted instead to attend the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, VA where he continued his love of sports by playing varsity football. After graduation he was commissioned as a 2nd Lt in the United States Marine Corps, where he spent the next eleven years and separated with the rank of Captain. Once a Marine, always a Marine. It was at this point he began his career in the mortgage industry as a loan originator. Over the next 30+ years he undertook every position there was until he found his passion in the compliance area. He remained in compliance until his retirement from Weiner, Brodsky, Kider PC in 2023. </p><p>Bill loved woodworking, stamp collecting, studying minerals and small-scale figure painting. He became a Master at the latter and competed on the national stage with many of his figures. You were also guaranteed to get a good story from him at any moment. He never met a stranger and went out of his way to lend a helping hand. </p><p>Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Mildred Weber Warren and Robert Warren; his brother-in-law, Conrad Metz of Hammond, LA. He is survived by his wife Jan Townsend Warren of Cumming, GA; his children Michael Cicero (Jessica) of Rocklin, CA; Michelle Segars (Alan) of Austin, TX; Eric Mittnacht (Rosa Ella) of Corsicana, TX; Todd Warren (Erin) of Stuart, FL, Lea Anna Goodwin (Johnny); Katherine Altman (Donald) of Valdosta, GA; grandchildren Jacob Warren, Avery Segars, Jillian Cicero, Gray Goodwin, Emilee Altman, Audrey Warren, Gracie Goodwin, Jackson Cicero, Austin Altman and Hayden Mittnacht. He is also survived by his sister, Jeanne Warren Metz of Hammond, LA. </p><p>A celebration of life will be held in the Spring of 2024 at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA with full military honors. Information with date and time will be sent at a later date.
