Russel G. Fry, 93, formerly of Hummelstown and Sarasota, FL, passed Saturday, September 30, 2023, in the Masonic Village.

Born in Harrisburg on July 25, 1930, he was the son of the late Harry F. and Clara Anderson Fry.

Russ retired in elevator sales from the Inclinator Company of America. He was a graduate of the former John Harris High School. Russ served proudly with U.S. Navy in the Korean War. He was a former Republican Committeeman in Hummelstown. Russ was a member of the Pine Shores Presbyterian Church, Sarasota, FL, and a former member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hummelstown.

He was also a member of the Snyder Lodge, F&AM, Harrisburg, and was a 32nd Degree Mason with 65 years of service. Russ thoroughly enjoyed fishing and whittling. He enjoyed both college and professional football, the Phillies, and the Litle League World Series. Russ had a green thumb and had a bountiful garden when he lived in Hummelstown and beautiful orchids in Florida. He also enjoyed birdwatching and always had many feeders out to attract his feathered friends.

In addition to his parents, Russ was preceded in death by his wives, Marjorie R. McCracken Fry, Louise I. Wise Fry, and Carolyn Jean Honeycutt Fry; and a son, Russel E. Fry.

Russ is survived by two daughters, Sally M. Lumley fiancée of Richard Lister of Hummelstown, and Melissa E. West wife of James C. West of Bethesda, MD.; eight grandchildren, Parker Lumley husband of Kristy, Riley Leonard, Hunter Lumley husband of Allison, Skylar Johnson wife of Patrick, Samuel West, Sydney West, Christopher Fry husband of Michelle, and Randy Fry; four great grandchildren, Lydia Lumley, Nora Lumley, Vincent Leonard, and Brynlee Johnson.

There will be no services held for Russel.
