Donna Gondek

<p>Donna Marie Gondek, 70, died peacefully on October 1, 2023 after a short illness. Born in Hartford on July 14, 1953, she lived all her life in Glastonbury, CT. Donna was predeceased by her mother and her father, Pauline and Henry, Sr. (Bud). She is survived by her brothers (Henry (Skip) and his wife Barabara of Columbia, CT and David and his wife Marcy of South Glastonbury. She is also survived by her nephews Joshua, Christopher, Alex and Michael, all of South Glastonbury, her niece Megan and her husband Joshua and their daughter Peyton of Amston, CT.</p><p>After graduating from Glastonbury High School, Donna worked at Smith Worthington, a saddle and horse supply company. This was a job she truly loved. After their closure, she worked for United Technologies, Hamilton Standard and Kaman as a purchasing agent.</p><p>Donna was an avid horse rider and lover, winning many awards with her favorite horse, Dumbo. Donna then transferred all of her love to dogs. Donna enjoyed an array of sports with them, especially agility. She trialed with many of her dogs, winning several agility and herding title through the years. She started out with Rosie O’Grady, her cocker spaniel and continued with Shannon, Shasta, Fizz and Whim. Donna was a friend to many amongst the dog community always lending her knowledge and expertise to whomever asked. </p><p>Friends and family may call on the Gondek family on Monday, October 16, 2023 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Ave. Glastonbury. A service will immediately follow in the funeral home. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 17 Wickham Road, Glastonbury.
