Albert J. "Al" Tratnik, 62, of Cudahy, WI passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023.

Al was born on December 21, 1960 son of the late Albert J. Tratnik and Nancy (Richard) Kowalczyk. While he was in Cudahy High School he worked at Tom’s Rod and Gun Store. After graduating, he worked for Peck Meats while furthering his education at MATC to eventually become a commercial HAVAC Journeyman being part of the Local 18 Sheetmetal Union. One of Al’s biggest interests was the outdoors. Whether it be hunting, fishing, trap shooting, or just buying a new firearm, he always tried to stay up-to-date with activities.

He was an active member of many outdoor clubs and organizations. Al was a longtime member of Cudahy Sportsman’s Club and Racine County Line Rifle Club. He was a member of the NRA, National Wild Turkey Federation, and Wisconsin Waterfowl Association, and enjoyed attending chapter fundraisers and banquets.

In 1991, his only son Nathan was born. Growing up, Al taught Nate many lessons and shared his passion of hunting, fishing, and trap shooting. Together they took many hunting trips to different parts of the state.

Al is survived by his son Nate A. Tratnik (Matt Sonnenburg), dog companion Jake; and siblings Cheryl (Jim) Mueller, and Tracy (Rich) Gutierrez. He is also survived by brother-in-law Mark Leer, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Al is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and sister Susan Leer.

A celebration of Al’s life will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at the Boxhorn Gun Club (S90 W13960 Boxhorn Drive, Muskego, WI, 53150) from 3-5pm. There will be trap shooting, 5-stand, food, and bar for all those that attend to commemorate his life. Please dress comfortably and casually, it's what Al would have wanted.
