Connie Lou (Lamb) Pace was the youngest of six children, was born November 24, 1950, the daughter of Dennis Lamb and Pearl (Swaim) Lamb. She grew up in the Murray and Hopeville areas, and as a child, Connie enjoyed walking in the timber and playing in the hay mow of the old barn. She graduated from Murray High School with the Class of 1969. On June 6, 1970, she as united in marriage to John Leroy Pace. The couple was blessed with the birth of two children, John Jr., and Jodi. John entered the United States Air Force shortly after their marriage. For the next twenty plus years they were stationed in New Mexico, Mississippi, Nebraska and Oklahoma. Connie was a homemaker and stay-at-home mom, a job she loved. After retirement from the Air Force in 1991, the family moved to Sharpsburg and then outside of Gravity, Iowa. In August of 2016, Connie was diagnosed with ALS, and although she lost the use of her legs and arms, it never took her heart or her smile. She always worried about taking care of everyone else, and she loved hugs. She was quoted many times saying . . "I can't give hugs anymore, but I still like to get them!" Connie believed in saying "I LOVE YOU", and she said it often! She loved her family . . . her husband, kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren . . . they were her life and her joy. She always looked forward to their phone calls and visits which just 'lit up her life'. Left to cherish Connie’s memory is her loving husband John Pace of Gravity, Iowa; two children, John Pace Jr., and wife Andrea of Gravity, Iowa; and Jodi Jeter and husband Darren of Huxley, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Amber Kingery and husband Chad; John Pace III; Shawn Kasha and wife Kerri; Adam Sickles and special friend Jenna Cargo; Brianna Pace; Heather Jeter; Zachary Jeter; Dustin Jeter; eight great-grandchildren Adailee Jones; Mark Kasha; Lydia Kingery; Payton Fleharty; Preston Fleharty; Avery Kasha; Paisley Bolinger; Waylon Bolinger; two brothers, Jerry Lamb and Jim Lamb and wife Rosella; a sister Kathy Parmenter and husband Jim; along with many other family relatives and friends. Preceding Connie in death are her parents, Dennis and Pearl (Swaim) Lamb; and two brothers, Lowell Lamb and Bernard Lamb. Although Connie will be greatly missed, her love and inspiration will live on through her family.
