Memorial services for Mark Joslyn, age 52 of Champaign, IL, formerly of Clarinda, IA, who died Sunday, May 10, 2009 at his home in Champaign will be held Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Ritchie Funeral Home, Clarinda, Iowa with Reverend Andrew Rubenking officiating. Visitation with the family will be held Friday, June 19, 2009 7-8 p.m. Burial will be in the Clarinda Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to the First United Methodist Church or to a charity of donor's choice. Mark Bryon Joslyn was born August 28, 1956, in Clarinda, IA. He was the eldest son of Lewis Joslyn and Elaine (Nichols) Joslyn. He was baptized in the First United Methodist Church, Clarinda. Mark grew up attending school and graduating from Clarinda High School with the class of 1974. He was a member of the Clarinda Chapter of De Moley and was active in high school audio visual club; and played tennis and football. Mark attended the University of Iowa at Iowa City and the University of IL in Champaign, Illinois. He was with Kraft foods in Champaign for twenty five years. Mark had many interests including music, gardening and his British cars. Mark was instrumental in starting the Champaign British Car Festival in 1989 and each year he loved to make the event bigger and better with people attending from many states. He enjoyed traveling with his car club all over the United States. Left to cherish his memory are his mother and father, Lewis and Elaine Joslyn of Clarinda; brothers, Jayd (Rene) Joslyn of Lafayette, Indiana and Randal (Lois) Joslyn of Coralville, IA; nieces, Jessica Joslyn, Chelsea Joslyn, Shayla Burkhalter and nephew, Dane Joslyn; aunts; uncles; cousins and many friends. Preceding Mark in death were his grandparents, John and Myrtle Nichols, Fern Joslyn and Fred Joslyn. Mark loved people and everyone was a friend to Mark. The memories that were made by Mark throughout the years will remain in our hearts forever.
