Karen Pelletier Obituary

Karen K. Pelletier, 68, of Glastonbury, Connecticut, passed away peacefully with family by her side on September 13th, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Robert S. Pelletier to whom she was married to for 45 years. Karen was born July 23, 1955 in Middletown, daughter of the late Arthur and Stella Kavanagh. She graduated from Mercy High School in 1973 and went on to graduate from UCONN with a degree in pharmacy. She spent over 7 years as a pharmacist at Rite Aid Pharmacy. After the birth of her first daughter, Jennifer, she devoted her time to being an incredible mother and wife.

Karen enjoyed traveling and spending time at the beach. At the beach, you could often find her looking for sea glass and other treasures in the sand. She loved spending time outside and taking care of her flower garden. She always had an artistic eye whether she was creating a floral arrangement, decorating birthday cakes, or designing an elaborate gingerbread house. Karen brought laughter and joy to every gathering and developed many favorite traditions that she will be forever remembered by. In recent years, her greatest joy was being a "Grammy."

Karen is survived by her husband, Robert S. Pelletier and two daughters, Jennifer Hedstrom (Jay) of Norfolk, Massachusetts and Meaghan Stack (Daniel) of Upton, Massachusetts. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Miles and Charlotte Hedstrom and Natalie Stack. She leaves behind a sister, Dr. Barbara K. Haight (aka "Sister Dear"), as well as Donna Grisham (aka "Auntie") and many other treasured cousins, Kelly Leech (aka "God Daughter Dear") and several other dear nieces and nephews, as well as many close friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Smith.
