Michael Denzel Carter, age 22, of Altus, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013, in Lawton.<br /><br />Michael was born in Dallas, Texas on December 16, 1990, to Cynthia A. Elix. At age 3, they moved to California where he attended school. At fifteen the family moved to Altus where Michael attended school and graduated from Altus High School in 2009. After graduation, Michael attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University, later moving to Chicago for a year. Returning to Altus, Michael had just begun working, in Lawton, as a waiter. Michael was very involved in "school life" during high school. As an Altus Bulldog, Michael enjoyed playing football and the comradery with his team members and classmates. A vibrant young man, Michael never met a stranger and was a friend to all. He had a love of football, the University of Oklahoma and the New York Knicks, but most of all he loved his family and friends.<br /><br />Preceded in death by his grandfathers Edward Gildon and Harold Carter, Michael is survived by his parents, Greg and Cynthia Carter of Altus; two sisters, Kiyana Carter and Tatiyana Carter, of the home; his grandparents, Shirley Levine and husband Berlin of Corning California and Barbara Carter of Medaryville, Indiana along with Many, Many Aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.<br /><br />Funeral services for Michael Carter will be at 2 pm., Friday, May 3, 2013, at Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Zane Newton officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home of Altus.<br /><br />For family and friends not able to attend the service, Lowell Tims provides a live web-cast.
