John R. Polis

<p>John R. Polis, 74, passed on Thursday, September 7, 2023 in Mercy Health- St. Joseph Warren Hospital. He was born on November 5, 1948 in Warren, Ohio, the son of Steve and Florence Sisco Polis.</p><p><br></p><p>He was a graduate of Howland High School in 1967. He had some college and military training in the electronics field. John was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, from 1967 to 1972, serving in Vietnam, and obtaining the rank of sergeant. During his military service, John was awarded numerous medals for his achievements and received his honorable discharge on November 30, 1972.</p><p><br></p><p>John had been employed at Monroe Calculator and later, had a small computer business in Warren. He enjoyed working with computers and studying theology. </p><p><br></p><p>He loved to travel and cook. </p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his wife, Eileen Adams Polis. He also leaves a brother-in-law, Matthew Adams Sr. and his wife, Karen and two nieces and one nephew; his niece, Paula Johnson and her husband, James and two nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>Preceding John in death were his parents, his five sisters, and one brother.</p><p><br></p>
