Joy Marie Bracken, 45, of Chamois, Missouri passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Saint Louis University Hospital surrounded by family and a friend. She was born on July 20, 1978 in Jefferson City, Missouri; a daughter of David Wayne and Shirley Ann (Cramer) Bracken.

Joy attended high school at Osage County R1 in Chamois. She worked for Scholastic and QCM in Jefferson City. She enjoyed anything outdoors, mushroom hunting, going to the creek and camping. Joy loved her garden and didn’t want anyone else touching it. She also loved being with her children, parents, other family members and friends.

She is survived by her parents: David Wayne and Shirley Ann (Cramer) Bracken of Chamois; children: Corey, Madison and Wylon Bracken all of Chamois; sister: Chelsey Peiter of Holts Summit; nieces: Carlee and Adilynn Peiter of Holts Summit and nephew: Beau Peiter of Holts Summit. Joy is preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law: Lisa and James Garrett; maternal grandparents: Joseph and Clara (Benson) Cramer; paternal grandparents: Robert and Helen (Dorway) Bracken.

Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday, September 14 2023, at Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Linn, Missouri. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Linn, Missouri. Interment will follow in Ferguson Cemetery in Chamois, Missouri.
