He passed peacefully in his sleep at home in Mangum, Oklahoma on January 14, 2017 at the age of 62. David was a lifelong area resident of Mangum.<br /> <br />David attended Mangum schools and was a graduate of the acclaimed class of "1972". David went on to obtain an associate engineering degree in fire protection and safety technology from Oklahoma State University. While attending OSU he was on the rodeo team and was the rodeo club president for several years.<br /> <br />In his early years, David was a member of the PRCA, he lived to ride bulls. David was an avid quail hunter and loved hunting with his father, sons, family and friends. David also loved to play golf with his sons and was a member of the Mangum City Golf Course for several years. David was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mangum.<br /> <br />David"s job experiences consisted of being a derrick hand, truck driver, lineman and a landman in the oil and gas industry for several years. The profession he was most proud of was being a Greer County Commissioner for District 1, from 1986-1994.<br /> <br />David"s greatest accomplishments were being a husband, father and grandfather. David married Sherri (Crane) Toole on November 24, 1982 in Decatur, Texas. They had two sons Cody and Clay; Cody was born in 1984 and Clay arrived in 1986. He was also blessed with a daughter-in-law Danika (Brooks) Toole, and three granddaughters Timbree, Filey and Racey Toole. He adored his granddaughters and talked about them constantly.<br /> <br />David is survived by his wife Sherri Toole of the home; sons Cody Toole and wife Danika Toole, and Clay Toole; granddaughters Timbree, Filey and Racey Toole; mother-in-laws Betty Walker and Shirley Crane; sisters Suzanne Kenney and husband Russell Kenney, and Margaret Scallorn; brothers Robert Toole and wife Robin Toole, and Gary Toole and wife Carol Toole; nieces and nephews Tiffany Toole, Kaci Toole, Jessica Kenney, Sarah Kenney, Mason Toole, Sawyer Toole, Austin Scallorn, Carrie Lee, Courtney Diaz, Ashley Crane, Alec Crane and Annie Crane; sister-in-law Trenda St. Claire; and brother-in-laws John Crane and Jack Crane. <br /><br />David is preceded in death by his parents Oluf and Dorothy Toole; sister Patricia Toole; father-in-law John Crane; grandparents John Henry Wild and Mary Francis Wild and Henry William Zellmann and Elizabeth Margaret Zellmann. <br />Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday January 21, 2017 at Greer Funeral Home in Mangum, OK. <br /><br />Arrangements are under the direction of Greer Funeral Home, Mangum, Oklahoma.<br /><br />To sign the online guest book and share memories with the family please visit www.GreerFuneral.com 01/21/2017 2:00 PM Memorial Greer Funeral Home Chapel in Mangum
