Vardaman---Georgette Helton, 68, passed away at Baptist Hospital in Calhoun City on Friday, September 1, 2023. Born September 8, 1954, in Vardaman, she was the daughter of the late G.W. Ramage and the late Annette Ross. She was a member of Mt. Hermon Primitive Baptist Church. She spent much of her life in south Mississippi, and it was there where she met the love of her life and soulmate, Chuck Helton. They exchanged vows on July 17, 1981, and they have spent over 42 wonderful years together. Georgette had a true servant’s heart, and was always willing to help others in need. She spent hours tending to the needs of the elderly, and was a caregiver to many, including Virginia Carter, Nora Parker, Janet Ramage, Becky Thomas, Tammy Gibson, and J.T. and Charlotte Skinner. In her free time, she enjoyed reading the Bible and studying God’s Word. She lived her life in the presence of God through her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her faith and family meant the most to her. She loved to cook and having everyone around for the family gatherings. She was a loving wife and mother, and was absolutely devoted to her grandchildren, who kept her going even through the days when she wasn’t feeling well. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, and her memory will be cherished forever in the hearts of her family and friends.

A Funeral Service celebrating her life will be held on Monday, September 4, 2023, at 2:00pm at Pryor Funeral Home. There will also be Visitation on Monday from 12:00pm until service time at the funeral home. Bro. Mike Ramage will be officiating, with interment to follow at Mt. Hermon Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Will Waters, Lindsy Waters, Landon Helton, GW Ramage, Austin Ramage, and Caleb Lucius.

She leaves behind her husband of 42 years, Chuck Helton of Vardaman; daughter, Charlsie Lucius and her husband Nathaniel of Vardaman; son, Dusty Helton and his wife Dana of Vardaman; sisters, Melissa Bond and her husband Bubba of Winona, and Retta Waters of Belzoni; and grandchildren, Mina Lucius (J.T.) Washington, Arwen Lucius, Landen Helton, Carter Helton, and Kayla Helton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, G.W. Ramage and Annette Ross; and her sister, Tabbie Ramage Williams.
