Richard Morris Obrecht Clark, age 61, passed away peacefully on August 25th, 2023 after a brief but hard fought battle with cancer.

He was born on June 26th, 1962 in Coopersville, MI to Frank and Peggy (Shanks) Clark. After graduating from Fruitport High School, he enlisted in the Army, where he achieved the rank of supply sergeant. After his military service, he attended Grand Valley State University and earned a BA in Finance. He married the love of his life, LuSinda (Eschman) Clark, on February 16th, 1990. Their beloved children, Drew and Sydni (Carlson), were born in the following years.

He was employed by Sam’s Club for 25+ years, and also previously owned and operated The Jazzy Cafe and Mountain Sports Cards LLC in Muskegon, MI.

Richard came to know his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at a young age. His faith was evident in everything he did. His daily prayers always ended with, “Help me to glorify You in everything I do today.” We rejoice that Richard is now walking with Jesus, free from pain and filled with joy.

He was not afraid to talk about his faith and spread the gospel to whomever he was with. He believed he should “never miss an opportunity to spread God’s word,” and he lived by that motto. He will be sadly missed by so many people who loved and cared for him, as he did for them.

Richard was an avid sports fan and enjoyed coaching his children in basketball. He competed in chess tournaments around the state, and he loved to take his 2004 cherry red Cobra Mustang to car shows.

(Mark) Carlson, his brothers David (Sandee) White, Harry (Diane) Clark, sisters Bonnie (Ronald) Ryder, Joanne (Robert) Fielstra. He will be missed by his brother-in-law, Kurt (Dawn) Eschman, Cousin Diane (John) Tandy and by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
