CPL Daylan James Turner

<p>CPL Daylan James Turner, 25, of Camp Lejeune, NC and formerly of Delavan, WI passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023.</p><p><br></p><p>Daylan was born on May 26, 1998 in Show Low, AZ son to Don J. Wakefield and Tamra L. Turner. He graduated from Delavan-Darien High School in 2016 and enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends, working out, and be a role model. His courageous spirit and selfless love often served as a beacon for those around him. His infectious humor and unwavering kindness embodied the qualities of a true gentleman. Anyone that knew him well would testify that Daylan was a keeper of the peace, was slow to anger, quick to forgive in any situation, and had an appetite for food that was unmatched. Daylan was gifted with an abundance of love during his time on Earth, and in return, he illuminated the hearts and impacted the lives of so many.</p><p><br></p><p>After graduating high school Daylan enlisted into the United States Marine Corps, where he served proudly for 6 years. “My only answer as to why the Marines get the toughest jobs is because the average Leatherneck is a much better fighter. He has far more guts, courage, and better officers . . . These boys out here have pride in the Marine Corps and will fight to the end no matter what the cost.” – 2nd Lt. Richard C. Kennard</p><p><br></p><p>You are not forgotten, Daylan, nor will you ever be. As long as life and memory last, we will remember thee.</p><p><br></p><p>Daylan is survived by his mother Tamra L. Elliott; step-father Steven Elliott; siblings Sylvia Elliott, Don Wakefield, and Christian Elliott. Daylan was born on May 26, 1998 in Show Low, AZ son to Don J. Wakefield and Tamra L. Turner.
